...Localized Heavy Rainfall and Flash Flooding Possible this
Morning...
Areas of Moderate to locally heavy rain will continue this
morning, generally along and east of interstate 75. The heaviest
rainfall is anticipated near the North Carolina state-line such as
the Smoky Mountain National Park and Cherokee National Forest.
Rainfall between 1 and 2 inches are expected with heavier amounts
possible near the state-line. Localized flooding is possible.
The heaviest rain bands will effect the area between 5 and 9 am
this morning.
In addition, northwest winds will strengthen this morning with gust
to near 35 mph will be possible over some of the higher elevations
of the eastern Tennessee mountains.
