...Unseasonably hot conditions return to inland areas Wednesdy and
Thursday...
.An upper level ridge will build over the region mid week, this
will bring triple digits highs, with warm overnight lows to inland
west side valleys. The river valleys in western Siskiyou county
should see cold drainage flow from the mountains that will result
in cooler lows than the Shasta valley.
...EXCESSIVE HEAT WATCH IN EFFECT FROM WEDNESDAY MORNING THROUGH
THURSDAY EVENING...
The National Weather Service in Medford has issued an Excessive
Heat Watch...which is in effect from Wednesday morning through
Thursday evening.
* Temperature...High temperatures in the watch area...100 to 106.
* Locations include...In Northern California; Yreka, Montague
Klamath River and Grenada. In Oregon; Medford, Ashland, Grants
Pass, Jacksonville and other communities along the Rouge and
Applegate rivers.
* Impacts...Hot daytime temperatures will increase chances for
heat related illness, especially for sensitive groups and people
without access to air conditioning. Heat stress is also
possible for livestock and outdoor pets. Smoke will exacerbate
heat related issues for vulnerable populations.
