  • The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a
    * Flood Advisory for...
    Northeastern Union County in the Piedmont of North Carolina...
    * Until 1100 PM EDT.
    * At 904 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. This will cause minor flooding in the advisory area.
    Up to two inches of rain have fallen since 730 PM.
    * Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Wingate, New Salem, Marshville and Unionville.
    Additional rainfall of around an inches appears likely over the
    area, with some locally higher amounts. The main impact of runoff
    from this heavy rainfall will be rapid rises on smaller streams and
    creeks in the northeast corner of the county. These include but are
    not limited to the Rocky River, Crisco Branch, Richardson Creek, and
    smaller tributaries of these streams. Flooding of areas with poor
    drainage will also be likely, especially in urban areas around
    Wingate.
