...MAJOR WINTER STORM WILL SLOWLY WIND DOWN THROUGH THIS
MORNING...
.Low pressure continues to rapidly strengthen off the NC coast.
Periods of heavy snow this morning will cause blowing and drifting,
with the worst conditions expected early this morning. Localized
blizzard conditions are possible along and north of Highway 264,
especially across the northern Outer Banks through early this
morning.
...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM EST THIS
MORNING...
* WHAT...Heavy wet snow occurring. Plan on difficult travel
conditions, including during the morning commute. Additional wet
snow accumulations of up to around an inch.
* WHERE...Pitt, Greene, Lenoir, Jones, Craven and Pamlico
Counties.
* WHEN...Until 9 AM EST this morning.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Gusty winds will cause areas of blowing and
drifting snow as well as reduced visibilities.
