  • ...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM TO 10 PM FRIDAY...
    .A Nor`easter will rapidly intensify just offshore the northern
    middle Atlantic and southern New England coast late tonight and
    Friday. The flow between the Nor`easter and high pressure building
    in from the central U.S will result in very strong winds across
    the middle Atlantic region, including central NC.
    ...WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM TO 10 PM EST
    FRIDAY...
    * WINDS...Will be sustained from the northwest between 15 and 30
    mph, with frequent gusts between 40 and 50 mph. Winds will be
    strongest across the northern Piedmont and northern Coastal
    Plain, from the Triad to Henderson and Louisburg, to Roanoke
    Rapids and Rocky Mount, where isolated gusts up to 55 mph will
    be possible.
    * TIMING...Winds will begin to increase with the passage of a
    cold front late tonight, then peak Friday morning through early
    Friday evening.
    * IMPACTS...Strong winds may blow down limbs, trees, and power
    lines. Scattered to numerous power outages will result.
