    * Until 745 PM EDT Saturday.
    * At 616 AM EDT, pool elevations at Lake James, Lake Rhodhiss, and
    Lookout Shoals Lake remain above the full pool of 100.0 feet,
    which is resulting in shoreline flooding and may result in the
    flooding of lake access areas, campgrounds, docks, residential
    yards, and swimming areas. Caution is advised anywhere near such
    areas.
    * Residents are encouraged to heed guidance from local officials and
    Emergency Management on any potential impacts to property.
    Drivers are encouraged to heed any barricades and avoid all
    flooded areas.
    * The latest pool elevations and Duke Energy projections (as of 600
    AM Saturday) for the upper Catawba River lakes are as follows
    (Full Pool is 100.0 feet):
    Lake James: 101.5 feet and slowly falling.
    Lake Rhodhiss: 101.3 feet and slowly falling.
    Lake Hickory: 99.7 feet and nearly steady.
    The pool is not expected to exceed 100 feet.
    Lookout Shoals Lake: 101.90 feet and slowly falling.
    * Forecast: High streamflows continue into the Catawba system lakes
    due to continued excessive runoff. All streams feeding into the
    upper Catawba lakes have crested and are receding, however it will
    take some time for the water to travel through the system.

    829-5253. Duke Energy will continue to update projections.
    * Residents along Lookout Shoals Lake should contact Catawba County
