...COASTAL FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 PM EDT THIS
AFTERNOON...
* Location...Along both sides of the Lower Cape Fear River from
downtown Wilmington southward to Southport.
* Coastal Flooding...High tide will combine with tropical storm
force winds pushing water up the river, to create minor flooding
across low lying locations along the lower Cape Fear River during
the mid to late evening hours.
* Timing...The highest water levels will occur in a 3 to 4 hour
window centered around high tide, today at 1202 pm. With current
projections, the levels should reach above 7 ft.
* Impacts...Significant flooding downtown on Water Street and at US
421 near USS North Carolina Rd. Water near a foot deep on River
Road near Cape Blvd.
