North Carolina this afternoon through mid evening, producing very
heavy rainfall.
...FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 AM EDT FRIDAY...
The Flash Flood Watch continues for
* A portion of central North Carolina, including the following
areas, Alamance, Chatham, Durham, Edgecombe, Franklin,
Granville, Halifax, Harnett, Johnston, Lee, Nash, Orange,
Person, Vance, Wake, Warren, Wayne, and Wilson.
* Until 5 AM EDT Friday
* Heavy rain will continue over northeast portions of central
North Carolina, including the northeast Piedmont and northern
and central Coastal Plain. Additional rainfall of 1 to 2 inches
is possible, leading to storm total rainfall amounts of 2 to 5
inches. Rainfall rates of 1 inch per hour is possible.
* These rainfall amounts and intensities may produce flash
flooding, particularly in low lying and poor drainage areas, and
near creeks, streams, and ditches. Flash flooding is also
possible in urban areas and creeks that are susceptible to urban
runoff issues.
