.Tropical Storm Michael continues to track northeast into southern
Virginia this evening producing strong winds across Eastern North
Carolina. These south to southwest winds combined with high
astronomical tides will result in some minor ocean side and sound
side flooding.
High swell energy, onshore winds, and high astronomical tides
will result in a high risk of rip currents again on Friday. The
high risk of rip currents will wane by the weekend as Michael
exits the region.

* LOCATIONS...Areas adjacent to the Pamlico Sound and the
Pamlico and Pungo Rivers.
* TIDAL DEPARTURE...Up to 2 feet above ground level.
* TIMING...This afternoon into tonight.
* COASTAL FLOOD IMPACTS...Minor flooding for areas adjacent to
the Pamlico Sound and the Pamlico and Pungo Rivers. A few
roads could be impacted and flooded at times.
