...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM EST THIS MORNING
THROUGH THURSDAY AFTERNOON...
The Flood Watch continues for
* Rhode Island and Southeast Massachusetts.
* From 11 AM EST this morning through Thursday afternoon
* Rain is expected to overspread the region, becoming heavy at
times this afternoon into the evening before diminishing in
intensity. While the rain may change to a brief period of snow
for a time during the late afternoon and early evening hours
especially in the hills of northwest Rhode Island...the majority
of what falls is expected to be rain.
* A quick 1 to 2 inches of rain is anticipated across the region
Wednesday afternoon and evening. The bulk of this rain will fall
within a 6 hour period and may result in some renewed river and
stream flooding. There may also be some urban and poor drainage
street flooding issues given the heaviest rain will coincide
with the the evening rush hour.

SATURDAY MORNING...
The Flood Watch continues for
* Portions of northern Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode
Island, including the following areas, in northern
Connecticut, Hartford, Tolland, and Windham. In Massachusetts,
Barnstable, Bristol, Dukes, Essex, Franklin, Hampden,
Hampshire, Middlesex, Nantucket, Norfolk, Plymouth, Suffolk,
and Worcester. In Rhode Island, Block Island, Bristol, Kent,
Newport, Providence, and Washington.
* From Friday morning through Saturday morning
* A large coastal storm will develop Thursday night and move
just offshore of Southern New England Friday and Friday night.
This will bring periods of heavy rain to the region.
* Rainfall of 1 to 3 inches, locally up to 4 inches possible,
will produce significant rises on streams and rivers. Areas of
heavy rain may produce urban and small stream flooding, as
well as flooding of poor drainage areas.
