• Coastal Flood Warning for Nantucket County, Massachusetts
  • Coastal Flood Warning issued March 03 at 10:29PM EST until March 04 at 3:00AM EST by NWS
  • Effective: Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 9:29 p.m.
  • Expires: Sunday, March 4, 2018 at 2 a.m.
  • ...COASTAL FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 AM EST
    SUNDAY...
    * LOCATION...Eastern Massachusetts coast from Salisbury to Lynn
    and Nahant including other communities along Boston`s North
    Shore. The warning also covers Quincy and Martha`s Vineyard.
    * TIDAL DEPARTURE...Storm surge of 2.3 to 3.0 feet.
    * TIMING...Through the time of tonight`s high tide.
    * COASTAL FLOOD IMPACTS...Minor to moderate coastal flooding is
    likely for tonight`s high tide with one or two feet of
    inundation possible in some low lying areas. In a few
    locations, flood waters from prior high tides may remain
    through the next high tide due to slow drainage. Although
    tonight`s high tide will be lower than the previous three high
    tides, some areas have become more vulnerable from the prior
    high tides. In addition, high surf will persist from lingering
    large swells from the departing storm along those shoreline
    exposed to the open ocean.
    * SHORELINE IMPACTS...Still more erosion is likely from high
    surf on top of elevated water levels, including Salisbury,
    Plum Island, and portions of the Edgartown shoreline.
    &&
    Time of high total tides are approximate to the nearest hour.
    Category thresholds are based on still water levels. Impacts
    may be greater, depending upon wave action.
