...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR LIGHT FREEZING RAIN IN EFFECT
UNTIL 10 PM EST THIS EVENING...
* WHAT...Light freezing rain. Total accumulations of less than
one-tenth of an inch are expected, mainly on untreated road
surfaces.
* WHERE...In Maryland, Wicomico, Somerset, Inland Worcester and
Maryland Beaches Counties. In Virginia, Accomack County.
* WHEN...Until 10 PM EST this evening.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Light rain and sleet are moving into the
Lower Maryland Eastern Shore, and eventually Accomack county.
Although surface temperatures are generally above 32 degrees,
road temperatures in many areas are still at or just below 32
degrees. Thus, the rain may freeze on some road surfaces,
especially those that have not been treated with salt after last
week`s storm. Road temperatures should gradually increase as
the evening progresses, with air temperatures remaining at or
just above 32 degrees.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Motorists are urged to exercise caution while driving. Roads,
especially elevated surfaces, bridges and overpasses, will likely
be slick in spots. Drive carefully and allow extra time to reach
your destination.
