This hydrologic outlook includes the following rivers:
Illinois River...
The following river information is based on future predicted
rainfall. The exact amount, intensity, timing, and location of the
rain that will occur is still uncertain. These outlook stages are
provided to show what may be expected if the forecast precipitation
occurs. Once there is more certainty about the river forecasts, a
flood warning or statement will be issued if the threat materializes.
For the Illinois River at Henry...the latest stage is 16.2 feet at 11
AM Monday. Flood stage is 23.0 feet. Moderate flooding is forecast...
with a crest of 26.0 feet Sunday morning...which is 3.0 feet above
flood stage. The river should rise above the flood stage of 23.0 feet
Thursday afternoon. At 28.0 feet...Flooding begins to affect
buildings east of Illinois Route 29 in Sparland.
For the Illinois River at Peoria...the latest stage is 12.6 feet at
11 AM Monday. Flood stage is 18.0 feet. Moderate flooding is
forecast...with a crest of 22.4 feet Monday afternoon...which is 4.4
feet above flood stage. The river should rise above the flood stage
of 18.0 feet Thursday afternoon. At 22.7 feet...Flooding begins to
low lying areas in Peoria Heights and Peoria`s Riverfront Park.
For the Illinois River near Havana...the latest stage is 7.9 feet at
11 AM Monday. Flood stage is 14.0 feet. Moderate flooding is
forecast...with a crest of 21.1 feet Thursday afternoon...which is
7.1 feet above flood stage. The river should rise above the flood
stage of 14.0 feet Thursday afternoon. At 19.5 feet...Access road to
Anderson Lake north campground closed.
For the Illinois River at Beardstown...the latest stage is 9.9 feet
at 11 AM Monday. Flood stage is 14.0 feet. Moderate flooding is
forecast...with a crest of 19.9 feet early Saturday morning...which
is 5.9 feet above flood stage. The river should rise above the flood
stage of 14.0 feet Thursday evening. At 14.4 feet...Seepage problems
begin in the Coal Creek Drainage and Levee District.
