...Heavy rain and localized flooding possible this weekend...
Periods of rain are expected across portions of east central
Illinois and northwest Indiana today. Rainfall amounts will vary
but some areas may receive 1 to 2 inches of rainfall.
Another period of rain is expected Saturday through Sunday
morning and this rainfall is expected to be more widespread with
rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches possible...with locally higher
amounts. The areas most likely to receive these higher rainfall
amounts will be along and southeast of a Gibson City to Rensselaer
line. However, there remains uncertainty regarding where these
heavy rains will fall.
If these heavier rainfall amounts materialize, rises will be
possible on creeks, streams and rivers and localized flooding,
particularly in poor drainage areas may develop. Those with
hydrologic interests should closely monitor later forecasts and
updates.
