ALEXANDER...FRANKLIN...SCOTT...PERRY AND CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTIES...
At 505 PM CST, trained weather spotters reported flash flooding in
the Carbondale area, where street closures were taking place. Water
was over roads throughout the warned area, including Highway 149
near West Frankfort. Widespread heavy rain and thunderstorms
continue. Hourly rainfall rates of around an inch have been reported
in the Cape Girardeau, Jackson, Marion, and Carbondale areas.
Thunderstorms continue to train northeast across the Cape Girardeau,
Carbondale, and Marion areas. This could result in potentially
serious urban flooding in those cities.

Additional rainfall amounts of one to three inches are possible in
the warned area through 8 pm.
