  • ...Heavy snow in portions of eastern Iowa and western Illinois...
    .A wintry mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain will gradually
    end over the area through 11 AM. In addition...a band of heavy
    snow will occur in portions of eastern Iowa and western Illinois.
    This band of snow may linger into the early afternoon hours and
    portions of the advisory may need to be extended.
    ...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 AM CDT THIS
    MORNING...
    * WHAT...Heavy snow in a 20 mile wide band centered roughly from
    Parnell to Washington, in Iowa to Biggsville and Bushnell in
    western Illinois. Snowfall amounts will be 2 to 5 inches, with
    locally higher amounts possible. Outside of this band of snow
    mixed precipitation will occur with snow accumulations of less
    than one inch and only a minor ice accumulation on elevated
    surfaces.
    * WHERE...Portions of east central and northeast Iowa and north
    central and northwest Illinois.
    * WHEN...Until 11 AM CDT this morning.
    * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...In the heavy snow band, visibilities will
    be near zero with snow covered and hazardous roads. The ice and
    snow will result in difficult travel conditions. Be prepared
    for reduced visibilities at times.
