...FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON
THROUGH THIS EVENING...
The National Weather Service in Jacksonville has issued a
* Flash Flood Watch for a portion of southeast Georgia,
including the following areas, Appling, Bacon, Brantley,
Charlton, Inland Camden, Inland Glynn, Pierce, Ware, and
Wayne.
* From 1 PM EDT this afternoon through this evening
* Numerous showers and thunderstorms will develop this afternoon
across much of interior southeast Georgia. Slower moving
downpours over saturated ground conditions will increase the
threat for flash flooding this afternoon and evening for
locations to the west of Interstate 95. Rainfall amounts in
excess of 2 inches in a short period of time will be possible
from this afternoon through the mid evening hours in the watch
area.
