...A FLOOD ADVISORY FOR MINOR FLOODING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 715 AM
EDT FOR MCINTOSH COUNTY...
At 628 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause minor flooding in
the advisory area.
Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Townsend, Crescent, Eulonia, Pine Harbor, Valona, Meridian and
Shellman Bluff.
The USGS gage near Meridian reported that 2.27 inches of rain has
fallen between 230 am and 530 am. Rainfall rates have decreased
across the area, but another 0.5 to 1 inch of rain will be possible
through sunrise. Minor flooding of low lying and poor drainage areas
is likely.
