EVENING...
The Flash Flood Watch continues for
* Portions of southeast Georgia and southeast South Carolina,
including the following areas, in southeast Georgia, Bulloch,
Candler, Coastal Bryan, Coastal Chatham, Coastal Liberty,
Coastal McIntosh, Effingham, Evans, Inland Bryan, Inland
Chatham, Inland Liberty, Inland McIntosh, Jenkins, Long,
Screven, and Tattnall. In southeast South Carolina, Allendale,
Beaufort, Coastal Colleton, Coastal Jasper, Hampton, Inland
Colleton, and Inland Jasper.
* Until 7 PM EDT this evening.
* Showers and thunderstorms will continue to impact the area with
periods of heavy rain. Some of the storms will be capable of
producing torrential downpours, resulting in as much as 1.5 to
2.5 inches, with locally higher amounts possible.
* In addition, the heavy rainfall over recent days has resulted in
elevated water levels on small creeks and streams. The heavy
rainfall could result in flash flooding along streams and creeks
and within urban areas.
