Dominique discussed with us where the restaurant got its name and that quitting was an option even after feeling she had to work hard to prove her worth to people because of her sexual preference. Dominique also shares how she started her enterprise from a Food Truck to three Brick and Mortar operations. Lexington Betty restaurant now housed in the former 111 Food Hall in the Historical Pullman District.

Dowell who is experienced with a proven track record in local government already and will go to work day one. Dowell says her candidacy is intentional and she will work for the people in the 1st District when elected the First Black Women to hold that seat. 1st Congressional District Candidate Charise Williams Joined "Conversations with the Citizen" to discuss her run for the soon to be vacant seat of Retiring Congressman Bobby L. Rush. Charise, a working mother and South Side native who was raised by an educator and U.S. Marine Veteran. As the elected representative for the district, Charise says she will work to bring resources to the district. She will be accountable and transparent to the people of the district.
