Dr. Lamenta Conway (C), is this year's Cook County Unsung Heroine Awardee. The 5th District resident was chosen for her professional accomplishments and her generosity in introducing students to the field of medicine. Celebrating Dr. Conway are Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle (L), At-Large Commissioner and Vice Chair of the Women’s Commission Andrea Raila (2nd L),former chairperson of the Cook County Commission on Women's Issues Peggy Montes (1st L), 5th District Commissioner Moncia Gordon (1st R) and 5th District Cook County Women's Commissioner Umi Brooks (R).
