Bill Calling for the South Suburban Airport to Move Forward Passes House

One day after at least 20 south suburban mayors and administrators joined labor, religious and business leaders to reiterate their support for the South Suburban Airport, Illinois state representatives approved a bill that moves it forward as a cargo airport. As the legislative sponsors of House Bill 2531, state Representatives Will Davis and Debbie Meyers-Martin held a news conference to show solidarity behind the bill which directs the State of Illinois to prepare and issue a request for qualifications seeking proposals for a cargo-based South Suburban Airport as a public-private partnership.
