Mayor Thaddeus Jones took May of 2021, becoming the first Black to hold office of Mayor in the town of Calumet City, Illinois. Mayor Jones recently released the details of his 2022 budget with a surplus. Before releasing the budget number for the upcoming year, not only is 2021 budget is balanced the town has seen a significant increase.
