More than 1,000 people attended a June 8, 2020 Black Lives Matter rally in south suburban Matteson to protest the death of George Floyd, an unarmed black man, who recently died after a white Minneapolis police officer allegedly held his knee on Floyd’s neck until he could not breathe for nearly nine minutes.
