The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRD) will be hosting a booth at the Flower & Garden Show at Navy Pier to demonstrate its new exceptional quality compost, a soil amendment that is derived from wood chips and nutrient-rich materials. “We look forward to speaking with the Chicago Flower & Garden Show attendees about our compost and about ways they can make a difference in their own homes and neighborhoods by incorporating green infrastructure solutions,” said MWRD Commissioner Kari K. Community Assistance Programs (CAPs) recently held an introductory presentation for their new Military BOOTS program. The program was created to provide information about military jobs to disconnected youth from age 18 to 24 who are unemployed and out of school. CAPs is a not-for-profit employment agency that provides employment training and job placement services. CAPs has two Chicago offices, one in Chatham, 8455 S.
