An overflowing crowd of over 200 filled the Chicago Cultural Center on Feb. 21 for Chicago African Americans in Philanthropy’s (CAAIP) Premier Reception for the exhibition Giving Back: The Soul of Philanthropy Reframed and Exhibited. While the event was a recognition of the Chicago icons, legends and community honorees featured in the highly lauded exhibit, it was also a homecoming filled with inspiring moments.

The books, written for children of all ages, focusing on the experiences of Black people, were published by NAD Thompson and Associates, a new publishing firm in Chicago."

The DuSable Black History Museum and Education Center announced the appointment of Patrick McGee as the museum’s new chairman of the board of trustees. McGee succeeds Patricia Knazze who served as chairwoman for five years and nearly twenty years as a dedicated board member.
