On February 20, 2024, acclaimed Chicago poet Diego Báez launches his debut collection, University of Arizona Press introduces Yaguareté White (University of Arizona Press), in which English, Spanish, and Guaraní encounter each other with humor and insight through the elusive yet potent figure of the jaguar. Giannoulias Awards Inaugural Illinois John Lewis Youth Leadership Award

ATTORNEY GENERAL RAOUL URGES BIDEN ADMINISTRATION TO IMPLEMENT BAN ON MENTHOL CIGARETTES AND FLAVORED CIGARS

Attorney General Kwame Raoul co-led a coalition of 21 attorneys general, along with California Attorney General Rob Bonta, Connecticut Attorney General William Tong and New York Attorney General Letitia James, in submitting a letter urging the Biden administration to complete its review and swiftly implement proposed regulations prohibiting the sale of menthol cigarettes and flavored cigars. Raoul and the attorneys general argue that the proposed FDA Rules, which are supported by ample evidence, are years overdue.
