CTA and Local DJs Are Back to Provide Riders a Harmonious Commute with Sounds from the AESOP DJ Booth
The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) is proud to announce that AESOP (An Extended Song of Our People), the public art project and DJ booth has returned to provide commuters with another season of lively music as they pass through the 95th/Dan Ryan Red Line station. This year’s programming schedule now includes three days of real-time programming by multiple local disc jockey (DJ) artists.

Projects Aims For Racial Healing with Artistic Expression
In Bronzeville, a group of young people from the Black and Asian American communities are having conversations about racial healing, with the goal to bridge the gap between the cultures. At the end of six weeks, the young people, along with two artists, will create an art project, one will be in Chinatown and the other will be located in Bronzeville.
CTA gearing up for Red Line Extension project
The Chicago Transit Authority has identified where it will build the Red Line Extension. The 5.6- mile extension will start at 95th Street to 130th Street in Altgeld Gardens and include four new Red Line stations. The new stations will be located at 103rd Street, 111th, Michigan at 116th Street and 130th Street.

Teams of high school aged girls proudly showed off their projects as judges looked on during the culmination of the Exelon Foundation’s STEM Academy. The miniatures depicted solutions to real world problems people in communities across the region face as a result of climate change.

Alzheimer’s Treatment Receives FDA Approval
On July 2, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) granted traditional approval to donanemab (Eli Lilly), sold under the brand name Kisunla (kih-SUHN-lah), for the treatment of people living with early symptomatic Alzheimer’s disease, which includes mild cognitive impairment and the mild dementia stage of Alzheimer’s disease, with confirmed amyloid plaques. This is the third FDA approval granted for an Alzheimer’s treatment that changes the underlying course of the disease.
