ZERO Prostate Cancer Chicago Run/Walk Brings Community Together
Raising Awareness and Funds to Help Save Lives
ZERO Prostate Cancer (ZERO), the nation's leading prostate cancer nonprofit, will host its annual Chicago Run/Walk on Saturday, September 26 at Warren Park. The event is free to register and open to participants of all ages and abilities, welcoming survivors, caregivers, families, and community members for a morning of movement, connection, and shared purpose.
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer among men, affecting 1 in 8 during their lifetime. Black men are 1.7 times more likely to be diagnosed, and Veterans face a 1.5 times greater risk. Despite these sobering statistics, when prostate cancer is detected early, the five-year survival rate exceeds 99% — making awareness and screening critical.
The Chicago Run/Walk offers participants the opportunity to honor survivors, remember loved ones, and take meaningful action in the fight against prostate cancer. Event highlights include:
● Free on-site PSA screenings
● Survivor & Caregiver Celebration Ceremony
● Local health resources and partner exhibits
● Noncompetitive 2.6-mile and 1.3-mile walk options
