Illinois Manufacturers’ Association Announces Partnership With Illinois Environmental Regulatory Group
Will Provide Manufacturing Community With A Stronger, Unified Voice On Environmental Policy
The Illinois Manufacturers’ Association (IMA) today announced a new partnership with the Illinois Environmental Regulatory Group (IERG) to provide the state’s manufacturing community with a stronger, unified voice on environmental policy, regulation, rulemaking, compliance and enforcement.
The partnership will combine the IMA’s established advocacy expertise with IERG’s deep knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, and regulatory processes and work to ensure that the manufacturing sector is effectively represented before policymakers, regulatory agencies, and other key stakeholders.
“The IMA is proud to enter into this strategic partnership with the Illinois Environmental Regulatory Group to provide Illinois’ manufacturing community with an even stronger voice on environmental legislation, regulations, and emerging policy issues,” said Donovan Griffith, Executive Vice President & Chief Strategy Officer of the Illinois Manufacturers’ Association. “By working together, the IMA and IERG will put Illinois manufacturers in a stronger position to navigate an increasingly complex regulatory environment while continuing to invest, innovate, and grow in our state.”
For more than four decades, the Illinois Environmental Regulatory Group has served as a leading voice on environmental regulatory and policy matters affecting Illinois industry. IERG works directly with the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency, Illinois Pollution Control Board, U.S. EPA Region 5, and other regulatory bodies, providing technical expertise and practical industry perspectives on rulemakings, permitting programs, compliance requirements, enforcement policies, and emerging environmental issues.
“IERG is excited to enter into this strategic partnership with the Illinois Manufacturers’ Association to provide Illinois companies with the tools, expertise, and resources they need to navigate the complexities and uncertainties of environmental regulations and emerging policies,” said Kelly Thompson, Executive Director of the Illinois Environmental Regulatory Group. “In partnership, our organizations will create a stronger voice for industry and promote practical, scientifically sound environmental regulations that work for Illinois businesses.”
Both the IMA and IERG have established reputations for bringing practical, thoughtful solutions to complex environmental challenges and this partnership will combine that expertise and advocacy in a more unified and effective way. The partnership is committed to advancing environmental policies that are practical, achievable, scientifically sound and supportive of both environmental stewardship and a strong Illinois economy.
Through advocacy, technical expertise, regulatory engagement and collaboration, the IMA and IERG will provide manufacturers with the information and resources necessary to understand and comply with evolving environmental requirements while advocating for a regulatory climate that allows companies to invest and create jobs in Illinois.
