Aetna Better Health® of Illinois hosts statewide Style & Smile Barbershop Takeover


Aetna Better Health of Illinois, a CVS Health® company (NYSE: CVS), will host a statewide Style & Smile Barbershop Takeover on Monday, October 26. The community event will provide no cost haircuts and simple styles for children and adults at participating barbershops across Illinois.

The event is designed to help individuals and families look and feel their best while connecting them with local community resources, health information and increasing awareness of upcoming Medicaid changes. By bringing health care conversations into these spaces, Aetna Better Health of Illinois is creating opportunities to engage members who may not participate in traditional health care outreach activities.

“It feels good to leave the barbershop looking refreshed and feeling confident," said Dr. Glen Davis, chief medical officer of Aetna Better Health of Illinois. "We’re offering people a confidence boost by giving them access to no-cost haircuts and simple styles with our Style & Smile Barbershop Takeover while also sharing helpful information about Medicaid benefits and health resources so they can be proactive about their health. It’s also a great opportunity to get ready for No-Shave November, a month-long initiative where men stop grooming to help bring awareness to cancer and promote early detection."

Each Style & Smile Barbershop Takeover location will offer basic haircuts and simple styling services at no cost during the event. Attendees will also receive giveaways like combs, hair picks and assorted hair accessories.
