St. Bernard Hospital to Host Free Community FitFest on June 6

Family event to celebrate 10 years of impact at the Ambulatory Care Center with family-friendly health, fitness, and resource fair


CHICAGO, IL. – St. Bernard Hospital invites Chicagoans to its third annual Community FitFest on Saturday, June 6, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at its Ambulatory Care Center (ACC), 6307 S. Stewart Ave. This year’s event will celebrate the ACC’s 10th anniversary. Built in 2016, the ACC was created to bring accessible, high-quality, and community-centered specialty and primary care closer to home for residents who once traveled miles for basic services. Over the past decade, it has reduced those barriers and expanded access to preventive care—helping patients seek treatment earlier and avoid unnecessary ER visits.


The Fit Fest brings that mission to life in a free, family-friendly celebration designed to bring the community together for a day of health, wellness, and fitness fun. Attendees can enjoy a wide range of activities and resources, including bouncy houses, live music, free food, a Kids Zone, interactive games, a farmers’ market, and a dedicated Senior Pavilion. In addition to entertainment, the Community FitFest will offer free health services, including blood pressure screenings, dental services, behavioral health support, immunizations, back-to-school physicals for youth, and access to a nutritionist.

The Community FitFest is one way we bring the hospital’s mission to life by celebrating the blessing of good health for the individual and the community.”


The event comes on the heels of national recognition for St. Bernard Hospital, which was recently ranked 11th in the nation for community benefit out of more than 2,000 hospital. The ranking highlights the hospital’s ongoing investment in programs, services, and outreach that directly support the health and well-being of underserved communities.
