COOK COUNTY – On Saturday, Clerk Spyropoulos, along with Chief Investigator Elias Voulgaris, hosted the Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court’s second Women’s Safety Seminar. The program was designed to equip women with tools and information to move through daily life with greater confidence and awareness.

Held at St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Lincoln Park, the seminar focused on personal safety, situational awareness and strategies to help prevent dangerous encounters. Participants also received practical self-defense instruction.

“Government should respond to the realities people face in their everyday lives,” said Clerk Spyropoulos. “That is why we brought together law enforcement, investigators and community members for a seminar focused on awareness, prevention and practical safety.”

Elias Voulgaris, Chief Investigator for the Clerk’s Office, led the program. Members of the Chicago Police Department Detective Division and Skokie Police Sgt. Damon Nikolopoulos highlighted recent crime trends. Self-defense techniques were demonstrated by Chicago Police Sgt. Michelle Dertz.

The Women’s Safety Seminar reflects Clerk Spyropoulos’ commitment to community outreach and to connecting residents with information and resources that support safer, stronger communities.
