HARD ROCK CASINO NORTHERN INDIANA DONATES $15,000 TO SOJOURNER TRUTH HOUSE

GARY, IN – On Thursday, March 5, representatives from the Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana presented Sojourner Truth House with a generous $15,000 donation. The Hard Rock is a member of Sojourner Truth House’s Corporate Giving & Sponsorship Program, a new initiative that allows corporate sponsors to further the organization’s mission of community enrichment.

“This donation shows that the Hard Rock is an organization that truly cares for the community,” said Dr. Pamela Key, Director of Client Services for Sojourner Truth House. “These funds will support the many services our day center offers. We can’t do this on our own and we truly appreciate having their support. Every donation helps, no matter how big or small.”

The size of this contribution has made the Hard Rock eligible for “Fund a Month” sponsor status, the highest tier in the program. “Fund a Month” sponsors receive benefits such as certificates of appreciation, private tours of the Sojourner Truth House facility, and photo opportunities with Sojourner Truth House staff. The Hard Rock decided to make this contribution in March in recognition of International Women’s Month.

The donated funds will support Sojourner Truth House as it provides clients with meals, laundry services, case management, transportation, and housing assistance.

“Hard Rock is more than just an entertainment destination, philanthropy is at our core,” said Christi Hardesty, Vice President of Marketing for the Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana. “We feel it is important to support the Gary community, so we want to provide Sojourner Truth House with the funding it needs to help clients get back on their feet and start new lives.”

Such inspiring displays of generosity demonstrate just how large an impact can be made when the community works to support those in need.
