REVEREND JESSE L. JACKSON
Acclaimed Chefs and Restaurants Fed Hundreds of Well-Wishers at Several Events Honoring the Icon’s Life and Legacy
CHICAGO — During the Celebration of Life programs for Reverend Jesse L. Jackson, a significant number of Black-owned businesses and major companies contributed to catering and beverage services. They fed many of the attendee[1] s who came out over the past two weeks in Chicago and in his home state of South Carolina to honor and pay tribute to the civil rights leader.
The Jackson Family would like to thank these companies for their unwavering commitment to honoring Reverend Jackson’s legacy and for serving hundreds of attendees at the House of Hope and Rainbow PUSH Headquarters — from the viewing days to the final event at The Haven Entertainment Center.
CEO and President of MGPG, Merry Green, one of the event organizers, spearheaded coordination with the restaurants and beverage companies that provided meals at several events.
“It was an honor to be a part of the planning team for Reverend Jackson’s celebration of life services in such an extraordinary manner,” said Green. “He spent his life giving back to the community and uplifting businesses, especially Black-owned. The contributions provided by these Chicago companies were their way of thanking Reverend Jackson, who helped pave the way for all of us.”
