BOWA Gives Announces Two-Day Girls in Sports Summit in Chicago
Chicago, IL - BOWA Gives, an organization empowering the next generation of leaders - especially girls - through the transformative power of sport, mentorship, and career development, has announced plans for the annual Girls in Sports Summit, formerly the BOWA Gives Girls’ Invite. Members of the media are encouraged and welcome to attend.
In conjunction with National Girls and Women in Sports Day, BOWA Gives will host the 2nd Annual Girls in Sports Summit on Saturday, February 7, 2026, and Sunday, February 8, 2026, in Chicago. The two-day event will provide attendees with opportunities to meet professional athletes, participate in panel discussions and breakout sessions, and take part in a track and field competition at a world-class facility.
“We are thrilled to host this annual event that brings girls together from across the region to celebrate the positive impact sports can have on a girl’s life,” said Ashley Ehimwenman, Founder of BOWA Gives. “Being recognized as an official National Girls and Women in Sports Day event helps shine a light on the importance of equitable access to athletics. Sports build confidence, lasting relationships, and positive self-image, and this Summit allows our city to rally around young women and support their growth on and off the field.”
Day 1, held Saturday, February 7, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at McDonald’s Headquarters (110 N. Carpenter Street) will feature a panel discussion on how skills developed on the field translate to success in careers and leadership roles. Panelists will include representatives from the Chicago Sky, Chicago Stars, Chicago Cubs, Hanahana Beauty, and Pluie. The day will also include a keynote address by Jasmine Minor, breakout sessions, a craft activity, and opportunities for community building. Day 1 programming is intended for middle and high school aged girls.
Day 2 will take place at the Dr. Conrad Worrill Track and Field Center and feature a full day of spirited competition for girls ages 5–18 in a USATF-sanctioned meet. U.S. Olympian Anavia Battle, three-time Olympian Michelle Carter, and U-20 US Champion Evelyn Bliss, will make special appearances to inspire and encourage the girls. This is an open track meet suitable for both first-time and experienced runners.
The 2026 BOWA Gives Girls in Sports Summit is hosted in partnership with the Chicago Park District and supported by corporate sponsors Gatorade, MONDO USA, and Sincerely Yours.
