Rainbow PUSH’s Saturday Morning Forum to Honor the Life of Reverend Jesse L. Jackson, Sr.

Chicago, IL – Rainbow PUSH will host its weekly Saturday Morning Forum on Saturday, February 21, honoring the prophetic leadership and enduring legacy of Reverend Jesse L. Jackson, Sr. under the theme Keep Hope Alive.

Faith leaders and community members will gather at PUSH Headquarters for a morning of reflection, music and service. The program will be moderated by Reverend James Meeks and will feature a special musical performance by The Chicago Community Chorus, under the leadership of Keith T. Hampton, Artistic Director and Founder.

During the Forum, participants will bless the blankets tied in January by volunteers during the organization's Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service and Learning. The blankets symbolize a shared commitment to service, compassion, and care for the most vulnerable in our communities and stand as a living expression of Reverend Jackson’s enduring vision to Keep Hope Alive.

Following the broadcast, volunteers will load and deliver the blessed blankets to community partners providing critical support across the city.

Members of the media are invited to attend and cover the Saturday Morning Forum, including the blessing of the blankets and volunteers preparing them for delivery.

Following the broadcast, the blankets will be delivered to the following organizations:

Ignite Youth Homeless Shelter – Ignite envisions a world where all young people have the support they need to be defined by their potential, not their circumstance by building community, hope, and opportunity for youth who are homeless.

DFSS King Community Center – Operated by the City of Chicago’s Department of Family and Support Services, the site provides safe refuge and critical resources for residents seeking protection from extreme weather conditions.

Child Link Foster Care – Child Link provides foster care services while carrying out a compassionate mission focused on the well-being of the children and youth it serves. The organization strives to make human services available to all children and youth in need of support.
