The Village of Burnham To Hold Public Meeting On The Burnham Avenue Railroad Crossing Study

Notice of Public Meeting
The Village of Burnham, with assistance from the Cook County Department of Transportation and Highways (DOTH), initiated the Burnham Avenue Railroad Crossing Study (formerly the Burnham Avenue Grade Separation Project). The study aims to reduce delays and improve mobility, safety, and operations for all roadway users in the project study area, specifically proximate residents of the City of Chicago and the Village of Burnham, at the existing at-grade railroad crossings where Burnham Avenue intersects with five railroad tracks (involving three controlled crossings) located just south of Brainard Avenue.
The purpose of the meeting is to provide a study update, present the recommended alternatives to be carried forward, and obtain public input. This meeting will follow an open-house format with exhibit boards on display, a looping voice-over presentation and project team members available to answer questions.
