HIGHLY POPULAR CHEF SEEN ON CHICAGO NETWORK NEWS TO OPEN ALL-NEW RESTAURANT IN CALUMET CITY, ILLINOIS

Hundreds of Cook County residents to travel to Calumet City for much anticipated "Bill's Grill and Smoke House"

(Calumet City, IL) Thaddeus Jones- Mayor of Calumet City, Illinois- will be joined by Chicago comedian Damon Williams, Illinois State Senator Napoleon Harris, Cook County Clerk Monica Gordon, Cook County Commissioner Dr. Kisha McCaskill, the Calumet City Council and residents throughout Cook County as they collectively will officially welcome the much anticipated Bill’s Grill and Smokehouse to Southern Cook County. THE OFFICIAL RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY WILL BEGIN AT NOON.

What went from a hobby has now grown to become Bill's Grill and SmokeHouse. Bill Hazel has been  grilling’ up the best for Chicagoans everywhere with what started as his food truck that’s now bringing a hearty amount of BBQ into his all-new restaurant in Calumet City. Bill is also bringing his famous “2 AM Barbecue Sauce that has delighted thousands of his patrons who consider Bill’s Grill as the best barbeque Operation in Illinois.

Bill has prepared on-air meals and fed television newsrooms throughout the Chicago media market. Known in the community as the “Television Chef” Bill Hazel has created a paradigm shift in how the preparation of barbeque is now perceived and appreciated.

I’m honored, grateful and blessed that Bill and his lovely wife Jorie chose Calumet City as their new permanent home. I am a big fan of Bill’s Grill and am delighted that I don’t have to travel far to get Bill’s signature 2 AM Barbeque Sauce”. The residents of Calumet City welcome Bill with open arms and tremendous support.” says Mayor Thaddeus Jones.

Cook County Clerk Monica Gordon adds, “After chasing Bill’ popular Bill Grills on wheels for so many years, Cook County residents can now patronize the wonderful eatery in the beautiful city of Calumet City. Congratulations to Mayor Jones and the entire city council for welcoming Bill to Cook County.”

Cook County Commissioner Dr. Kisha McCaskill concludes, “This a picture-perfect match in that Calumet City is known for supporting its local businesses. Moreover, the residents of Cook County are fortunate to have such a stellar chef who is highly regarded for his culinary expertise and charismatic personality.”

At a young age, both Bill and his wife Jorie showed a passion for cooking, and together, they took this hobby and turned it into a business. At Bill’s Grill, you’re getting meats cooked low and slow to retain that smoky aroma and flavor, so flavorful in fact you won’t need any sauce. Bill has been deemed “Mr. No Sauce At All” due to his perfected BBQ technique and signature rub.

From BBQ spare ribs to rib tips, chicken wings, and sausage links, each is cooked for a number of hours over cherry wood that only adds to the full-bodied flavor. And no Bonafide BBQ joint would be anything without homemade sides. Thankfully, Bill’s got ’em in spades, including grilled pineapple, okra, and cool coleslaw. When Bill isn’t behind the grill, he’s mentoring other business owners to ensure that they will succeed and support them along the way.

The grand opening and ribbon cutting will take place at noon. Additionally, the restaurant will be celebrating throughout the day as entertainers, professional athletes and politicians are expected to visit the eatery until it closes its doors at 8:00 PM.
