HARD ROCK CASINO NORTHERN INDIANA DONATES 250 THANKSGIVING DINNERS TO SALVATION ARMY OF LAKE COUNTY 

 

Gary, IN (November 25, 2025) Today the Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana donated 250 individual Thanksgiving Dinners for local residents at the Salvation Army of Lake County Gary-Merrillville Corps Community Center. Michael Gaudreau, Vice President of Casino Operations, who is a member of the Salvation Army of Lake County’s Advisory Board, was on hand at the Gary-Merrillville Corps Community Center to help distribute the dinners in a drive-through pick-up line. Captain Jim Prichard, who is leading the Gary-Merrillville Branch, oversaw the annual event.

 

Cars lined up down the block to receive a gourmet cooked Thanksgiving dinner prepared by Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana chefs. The traditional Thanksgiving dinners were individually boxed and served hot to the community members. The individual dinners include roasted turkey and gravy, stuffing, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, ham, green bean casserole, house salad & vinaigrette dressing, a dinner roll and butter and a slice of pumpkin pie for dessert.


An assembly line was formed at the Salvation Army with a group of the Hard Rock kitchen staff carefully preparing each and every meal. Once assembled the team of volunteers from the Hard Rock assisted with placing the meals in the cars of the area families who had signed up to receive them. This has been an annual tradition since the Hard Rock opened in 2021.

The Gary-Merrillville Corps Community Center provides rent, utilities and food assistance to those who are at risk of homelessness and hunger. The Center also provides summer and after-school programs for local children, youth activities, as well as program support for women and seniors.
