RICH TOWNSHIP SUPERVISOR CALVIN JORDAN RECEIVES THE TOWNSHIPS OF ILLINOIS COVETED “2025 PRESIDENT'S AWARD”
THE POPULAR TOWNSHIPS OF ILLINOIS ORGANIZATION RECOGNIZES JORDAN FOR HIS UNDYING COMMITMENT TO SENIORS, FOOD PANTRY SERVICES, AND CIVIC ACHIEVEMENTS
(Richton Park, IL) Calvin Jordan- Rich Township Supervisor- has been bestowed the coveted “2025 President’s Award” by the popular Townships of Illinois organization (TOI). The award was presented to Jordan on November 14th, in Springfield, Illinois witnessed by a capacity crowd of his fellow colleagues, elected officials, business leaders, and civic leaders from throughout the State of Illinois.
The President’s Award is given to a top township official who has exhibited extraordinary leadership, best in class management of township affairs, and a spirit of excellence in execution of government services to residents who have been challenged in all levels of society.
“Calvin Jordan continues to amaze many of us with his unique and firm approach to the delivery of services to township residents. His passion for seniors and for those who are challenged throughout the region is second to none. He has been a model of excellence for township governments through the state of Illinois. Thousands have benefitted from his unselfishness and diverse style of governing township resources.” says Cook County Commissioner Dr. Kisha McCaskill.
Supervisor Jordan had previously received the TOI “Supervisor of the Award in 2023. This year’s event not only celebrated Jordan’s individual accomplishment but also recognized Rich Township’s numerous achievements. Under Jordan’s leadership, Rich Township has previously received numerous accolades including Township of the Year (2023). Supervisor Jordan had also been honored with the 2024 Elected Official of the Year Award by the Illinois Township Association of General Assistance Caseworkers, an award at that time he humbly dedicated to his team and community volunteers.
“Together, we have proven that smart governance, community engagement, and inclusive planning can achieve real lasting change,” said Supervisor Jordan during his remarks. He emphasized the challenges ahead, particularly the need to defend vital social programs such as Social Security, Medicaid, and public education, which he described as “under siege.”
In addition, Supervisor Jordan referenced nearly two centuries of Rich Township serving as a beacon of resilience, community, and progress for countless families. The evening concluded with a renewed call to service, as Jordan pledged to continue advancing the township’s legacy of innovative, people-centered governance.
“Rich Township is a phenomenal industry leader in the field of Township government. The countless positive media stories that have been published during Calvin Jordan’s tenure as Supervisor truly underscores not only the true purpose of township government, but also the positive impact it has had on people who have been hindered by the nation’s economy and inflation” says Illinois State Representative Debbie Meyers-Martin.
Matteson Mayor Sheila Chalmers-Currin concludes, “ Calvin Jordan is an outstanding American citizen. His humanitarian achievements have had an enormous impact on the upward mobility of local governments, civic organizations, and countless Cook County residents. I am honored to call him my friend, but moreover my dependable partner in government.
