Nourishing Hope and FAME Center Partner to Provide Snack Bags for South Loop Summer Campers

CHICAGO, IL — Nourishing Hope, one of Chicago’s leading hunger relief and social service organizations, is proud to partner with the Fortson and Music Education Center (FAME) to support young campers this summer with nutritious daily snack bags. The collaboration, which launched June 16, ensures children in Chicago’s South Loop have the nourishment they need to stay energized and focused during a dynamic, arts-based summer camp experience.

Campers at the FAME Center’s vibrant summer arts camp will engage in a full day of music, visual art, theater, creative writing, outdoor activities, and team-building. Each day, Nourishing Hope will provide snack bags filled with healthy options to help fuel learning, creativity, and connection.

"This is a powerful way for us to invest in the future. When we nourish children — not just with food, but with care and opportunity — we help them thrive in every aspect of life,” said Natia Barnett, Nourishing Hope's Program Expansion Manager.

This collaboration exemplifies the power of nonprofits working together to meet both the educational and nutritional needs of youth in underserved communities. Since 2018, the FAME Center has expanded access to high-quality arts education in under-resourced neighborhoods. With this partnership, they aim to spark creativity and open pathways to careers in the arts for the next generation.
