KILTED CLASSIC GOLF TOURNAMENT TO RAISE MONEY FOR ELDER CARE

Don your tartan, polish those clubs and bring a foursome to celebrate the game of golf with Chicago’s first and oldest non-profit, with all proceeds benefitting the organization’s elder care mission at Caledonia Senior Living & Memory Care

CHICAGO -- Chicago Scots, the first and oldest non-profit organization in Illinois, is celebrating Scotland’s greatest contribution to the world of sports – golf – when the 23rd Annual Kilted Classic Golf Tournament returns to Cantigny Golf Club, located at 27W270 Mack Road, on Thursday, Sept. 26. The tournament begins with a shot gun start at 11:00am. Proceeds benefit Chicago Scots principal charity, Caledonia Senior Living & Memory Care.

Roscoe Company is the Presenting Sponsor of this annual tournament and the Roscoe Massed Putt at this very Scottish tournament. All players ranging from novice to advanced are invited to join. Registration is available online for foursome, pairs or single players. Kilts can be rented at check in on tournament day. Measuring instructions are available on the Chicago Scots website, chicagoscots.org.

All golfers have the opportunity to win a bottle of whisky on every hole, a golf trip to Scotland with airfare for two or a custom club fitting sponsored by Roscoe president Jim Buik. The tournament features skill competitions with the Longest Drive and Closest to the Pin and fun challenges including the Nessie Challenge or Beat the Scot against Gus Noble OBE, Chicago Scots’ President. Bagpipes, Highland Dancing, and Scottish trivia complete the Scottish fanfare.

"Scottish sports enthusiasts created the game of golf over 500 years ago, and to think how far it has come across the pond," said Gus Noble OBE, president. "This annual outing is a favorite of mine, as is it is the perfect fall activity and the best way to give back to an incredible cause.”

Special thanks to the Kilted Classic Golf Committee for planning this Scottish-filled event including Chair Curtis Linder and Committee members Don Cook, Archie Edgar, Joey Guzzardo, Rick King, Rusty Magner, Paul Melville, Scott McAdam Jr. and Tim Wojcik.

Sponsorship opportunities are also available and range from $100 to $5,000, allowing organizations to display logos at various locations across the course including food stations and bar carts, presentation of the winner’s prize and the ability to showcase brands to every golfer in attendance.

The annual Kilted Classic is one of many events the Chicago Scots host annually to help raise funds for their principal charity, Caledonia Senior Living & Memory Care, as well as raise cultural awareness and develop relationships across sectors in both Scotland and North America. The Chicago Scots are guided by three values: equality, education and enterprise.
