Country Club Hills School District #160 Celebrates Progress with Release of Illinois Report Card
Country Club Hills, Ill. – Country Club Hills School District #160 is proud to announce remarkable strides in student achievement and well-being, reaffirming our commitment to fostering innovative learning opportunities in a nurturing environment, after the Illinois State Board of Education unveiled the annual Illinois Report Card for the 2023-2024 school year, available at www.illinoisreportcard.com.
While academic achievement remains our top priority, we recognize that standardized test scores provide only a snapshot of our broader mission. As articulated in our Mission Statement, “The Mission of Country Club Hills School District #160 is to provide innovative learning opportunities in a nurturing and safe environment for all children as we prepare them for college and career readiness.”
In our 2024 Report Card, we proudly highlight the following achievements:
Decreased Student Mobility: Dropped from 15.6% to 13.2%
Reduced Chronic Absenteeism: Fell from 57.6% to 43.9%
Increased Overall Attendance: Improved from 85.2% to 88.1%
Enhanced Reading Proficiency: Rose from 8.5% to 18.1% for 3rd-8th graders
Improved Math Proficiency: Increased from 4.9% to 8.4% for 3rd-8th graders
Enhanced Science Proficiency: Grown from 25.9% to 28.9% for 5th and 8th graders
Lowered Student-Teacher Ratio: Decreased from 26% to 20%
Growth in ELA: Increased from 43.2% to 49.4% on IAR
Growth in Math: Increased from 42.9% to 49.9% on IAR
These improvements stem from our strategic investments in enhancing the literacy and mathematics curriculum for grades 3-8. We have also prioritized professional learning, coaching, and sustained classroom support for our educators. Our commitment to providing differentiated instructional support and targeted intervention programs remains steadfast, as we understand the importance of nurturing partnerships between home and school through community events and forums.
While we celebrate these successes, we recognize the continued need for growth and are dedicated to ongoing school improvement. In the upcoming year, we are focused on:
Advancing proficiency and growth in literacy and numeracy throughout the district
Increasing the percentage of 8th graders identified as “on track”
Meeting our school improvement goals concerning chronic absenteeism and other crucial success metrics
Enhancing proficiency across all student subgroups
Additionally, we are pleased to announce significant progress regarding the Annual Summative Designation — a federally mandated accountability category. This year, two of our schools have advanced from “Comprehensive” to “Targeted” status, reflecting our effective strategies in addressing the needs of all students across eight performance indicators.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the entire Country Club Hills School District #160 community—administration, teachers, staff, families, and the Board of Education—for their unwavering support and collaborative efforts toward our students' success.
