EQUAL HOPE PRESENTS 16TH ANNUAL CELEBRATING LIFE GALA, JUNE 20
CHICAGO (May 30, 2024) Equal Hope will hold its 16th Annual Celebrating Life Gala June 20, from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. CST, at The Geraghty, located at 2520 S. Hoyne Ave, Chicago, IL 60608.
The dinner and awards program will honor two Healthcare Champions for Health Equity the University of Illinois Cancer Center and Dr. Yamile Molina. The evening promises to be a celebration of excellence, recognition, and unwavering dedication to advancing health equity.
“We are thrilled to pay tribute to the remarkable work of the University of Illinois Cancer Center and Dr. Yamile Molina,” said Paris Thomas, Executive Director at Equal Hope. “Their unwavering commitment to health equity perfectly aligns with our mission to save lives by eliminating health inequities.”

Their commitment to challenging healthcare disparities is crucial to achieving equity across Chicago.”
“Dr. Molina continues to demonstrate her deep dedication to health equity by doing the hard work to increase access to health care for everyone,” Thomas said.
Dr. Yamilé Molina is a scholar/activist dedicated to amplifying the voices and agency of marginalized and resilient populations, including communities of color, LGBTQ communities, and those living with chronic conditions.
Equal Hope is dedicated to saving lives by eliminating health inequities as it relates to breast, cervical and other cancers. The Equal Hope team approaches health holistically through research, quality assessment, advocacy, education, and patient navigation to achieve sustainable outcomes and true health equity.
In 2023, Equal Hope's outreach efforts reached more than 475,844 individuals, nearly 20% of Chicago's population. Initiatives included distributing over 106,320 flyers throughout Cook and Lake County, providing over 513 rides to health screenings, scheduling 3,117 appointments, and establishing primary care for 322 individuals through our community health team.
This year's gala will feature a sumptuous gourmet dinner and inspiring stories. It will be a night of uniting community leaders, healthcare professionals, and advocates in a shared commitment to eliminate health disparities and promote equal access to healthcare.
