LONGTIME COOK COUNTY COMMISSIONER ELECTED PRESIDENT OF NATIONAL COUNTY ASSOCIATION

Cook County Commissioner Stanley Moore Elected President of National Association of Black County Officials (NABCO)

Cook County, Ill. – Cook County Commissioner Stanley Moore has been elected President of the National Association of Black County Officials (NABCO), an organization representing African American officials in more than 3,000 counties, boroughs and parishes across the country. The 49-year-old organization along with its associated group – the National Organization of Black County Officials (NOBCO) – elected Moore at the National Association of Counties (NACo) Annual Conference in Florida.

Moore graciously accepted this prestigious appointment during the annual, premier gathering of county leaders – flanked by the organizations three former NABCO presidents. His two-year term will run through July 2026. "I am honored to serve as the next president of NABCO," Moore stated. "Thank you to NABCO and to these three outstanding prior presidents for lending their support to my term. My executive team and I are excited to showcase NABCO's progress while continuing to advocate for issues affecting our member counties."

Moore currently serves as the Chairman of Transportation and Law Enforcement on the Cook County Commission, where he has been a member for 10 years. Throughout his tenure, Moore has been a staunch advocate for all communities he represents. Recently, he played a pivotal role in securing nearly $45 million for initiatives aimed at curbing gun violence, enhancing educational opportunities and addressing food insecurities in the area.

Moore's leadership extends beyond the county, as demonstrated by Cook County's upcoming hosting of the Democratic National Convention next month. "Cook County leadership will be on full display on the national stage," Moore noted. "Together, as NABCO President, we can certainly make a difference.”

The National Association of Black County Officials (NABCO) is dedicated to empowering and representing African American county officials across the United States. Through advocacy, education, and collaboration, NABCO works to address the unique challenges facing Black communities within America's counties, boroughs and parishes.

The National Organization of Black County Officials (NOBCO) partners with NABCO to provide support, resources and advocacy for African American county officials, ensuring their voices and concerns are heard at all levels of government.
