City Colleges invites young minds to explore careers utilizing the Metaverse, 8-week course is free and for students ages 9-14, class begins July 6  

The Metaverse is changing how we learn and the experts say “experiencing education” helps people retain the information better so that’s why Kennedy-King Colleges’ Dawson Technical Institute is excited to offer this class: Metaverse Intro to Construction Virtual Reality this summer and fall using Interplay Learning tools.  

Designed for young minds aged 9-14, this course offers an immersive dive into the Metaverse's impact on the construction industry. Through interactive lessons, hands-on projects, and eye-opening field trips, students will unlock the secrets of construction's many stages. They'll also explore the vast array of careers within the construction industry, from architects and engineers to project managers and skilled tradespeople. Summer 2024

Start date: Saturday, July 6, 2024 & end date is Saturday, August, 24, 2024

Scholar Seats: 20 (first come first registered basis, parents will be notified via email)

Time: 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Drop-off: Students can be dropped off as early as 9:00 a.m. for breakfast and picked-up no later than 2:00 p.m.

Location: Dawson Technical Institute, 3901 S State Street in Chicago


Fall 2024

Start date: Saturday, September 21, 2024  & end date is Saturday November 9, 2024

Class Requirements: 

Students must enroll to participate in the 8-week free course.
