Giannoulias Opens Senior DMV Center at New Location in Bridgeview
Following the popularity of its “pop-up” senior-focused DMV in Bridgeview, the Secretary of State’s office announced today that it will continue to operate at a new location in the southwest suburb to accommodate more drivers, Illinois Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias announced.
The Bridgeview facility located at SeatGeek Stadium opened in September along with three other senior centers that have been serving customers during the past four months. Because of the overwhelming response from seniors, Giannoulias decided a DMV facility should remain in the village as an option for suburban seniors.
The new Bridgeview pop-up – located at 7902 S. Oketo Ave. – is open from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. This “no-appointment,” walk-in facility offers the following Driver and Vehicle Services: driver’s licenses and state identification cards; REAL IDs; vehicle registration stickers; in-car driving tests; organ and tissue donor registration; and voter registration.
For information about the Bridgeview DMV, information about online renewals or to schedule an appointment at another facility, call (800) 252-8980 or visit www.ilsos.gov.
The senior pop-up facilities in Bridgeview, Calumet Township, Evanston and Westchester are part of Giannoulias’ effort to improve the Skip-the-Line program and eliminate long lines at DMVs. Since launching Sept. 1, Illinois DMVs have seen more than 800,000 customers statewide – including over 21,000 seniors who have visited the four Senior Centers and over 9,000 who had visited the Bridgeview facility at SeatGeek Stadium.
“We’re excited to continue to provide a top-notch service experience specifically tailored to serve seniors at a new location in Bridgeview,” Giannoulias said. “Our Skip-the-Line program delivered great results in 2023, ensuring that all Illinoisans, but especially our seniors, can quickly and easily access the services provided at our DMVs and experience little to no wait times. We have much more planned for 2024.”
“I am happy to host Secretary Giannoulias for the relaunch of the Bridgeview senior DMV, now at the Bridgeview Community Center,” said Bridgeview Mayor Steven Landek. “Our seniors grew very fond of the location at SeatGeek Stadium, so I’m glad we were able to find a great location where those services can continue to be offered.”
