OVER 100 FAITH LEADERS PUBLICLY ENDORSE
SUPREME COURT JUSTICE JOY CUNNINGHAM
FOR THE ILLINOIS SUPREME COURT
On Monday, February 12th, over 100 Faith leaders gathered at the oldest and most historic Quinn Chapel Church in Chicago and announced their endorsement of Illinois Supreme Court Justice Joy Cunningham to a full 10-year term for the Illinois Supreme Court. The mass group also officially announced their endorsement of all the judicial candidates that have been slated by the Cook County Democratic Party.
Reverend Jeanette Wilson, Bishop Shirley Coleman, Reverend Phalese Binion, Pastor Ira Acree, Pastor Michael Eaddy, and Bishop Larry Trotter and other core faith leaders coordinated the mass contingent of Cook County Clergymen who also outlined their rationale to why Justice Cunningham is clearly the most qualified candidate for this office.

SUPPORT OF THE COOK COUNTY DEMOCRATIC PARTY SLATED CANDIDATES FOR JUDICIAL OFFICES
The group also spoke to Justice Cunningham’s keen knowledge of the judicial system as well as her being an astute scholar of the law, but also that she is one of Chicago’s most beloved and respected humanitarians.
Justice Cunningham has continued to be the beacon of light that the criminal justice system has heavily relied upon. She has contributed much to the upward mobility of all Americans throughout the state of Illinois. The vast majority of clergy leaders throughout Illinois are firm in their opinion that Justice Cunningham being elected to a full 10-year term to the Illinois Supreme Court would be well deserved and of enormous value for all Illinoisans.
The core faith leaders who were led by key female clergy leaders throughout Cook County also announced their full support of the entire slate of judicial candidates recently endorsed by the Cook County Democratic Party.
In December of 2022, Justice Cunningham was appointed to the Illinois Supreme Court. She previously served as Justice of the Illinois Appellate Court from 2016 until 2022. Prior to attending law school, Justice Cunningham earned a degree in nursing and volunteered at Planned Parenthood.
