GRANDMOTHER IS WITHOUT TRANSPORTATION AS SHE HAS TRIED TO RAISE HER GRANDSON FOLLOWING HER DAUGHTER’S TRAGIC DEATH

(Chicago, IL) – Earl Walker-Vice-President of Government Relations for Vehicle Management Solutions (VMS)- will surprise a grandmother forced to raise her grandson following her daughter’s tragic murder on July 4th of this year. VMS is the parent company to E&R Towing and W&W Towing.


Capri Edwards, a 24-year-old mother, was killed while shielding her 1-year-old child during a mass shooting in Chicago on July 4th, which also claimed the lives of her aunt and an 8-year-old boy. Edwards' 7-year-old son, Jacoby, was critically injured in the shooting, suffering a gunshot wound to the face. Thankfully, Jacob survived the shooting and now is being raised by his grandmother, Markita Scott.

Ms. Scott has found it extremely difficult to raise Jacoby on her own. Given the trauma which he endured while witnessing his mother’s senseless murder, Markita has been forced to sacrifice work and other initiatives to ensure that Jacoby gets all the help he needs. But moreover, it is the financial toll that this has had on her.


“When we were told about this unfortunate occurrence, we felt compelled to not only offer a meaningful Christmas shopping spree, but we also looked at Ms. Scott’s lack of transportation. Therefore, we decided to present her with a new car. This will allow her to transport Jacoby to school, counseling, and other necessary appointments.


Ms. Scott has not been told of the shopping spree nor the new car that VMS will present to her. W&W Towing will arrive at the Scott household to transport both Ms. Scott and Jacoby to Wal-Mart. It is there where Mr. Walker, VMS staff and officials, Santa Clauss, and Walmart management will be anxiously awaiting their arrival.


At that point Mr. Walker will begin the media availability just inside the front entrance of the store and present to Ms. Scott hundreds of dollars in gift cards to shop throughout Walmart for Jacoby’s Christmas toys, electronics, and clothes. (Walmart has agreed to allow the media access inside the store to capture the shopping spree)


However, upon completing the shopping spree, Early Walker and VMS will further surprise and present to Ms. Scott the keys to a super clean and perfectly running 2014 Acura MDX. The Acura will be delivered via flatbed truck to the Walmart store by E&R Towing. Ms. Scott will be allowed to drive the car home. The title and insurance on the car have been pre-arranged in her name.
